Ch 6 Test - Your Blog Due Nov 23.

1.  Provide a paragraph on an important issue of your choice from Section 1:
I think it is cool that the constitution vote states five restrictions on the right to vote. These restrictions do not allow the state to deprive people the right  to vote on race, color, creed, sex,and if there of legal age to vote. It also states  a state can not have a polling tax. 

2.  Provide a paragraph on an important issue of your choice from Section 2:
to vote in the US you must be a legal citizen of the united states. to vote in your state you must be a resident  for a certain period of time may vote. you also must be 18 years old and have registered to vote except if you live in North Dakota. The state provides a way to register to vote. 


3.  Provide a paragraph on an important issue of your choice from Section 3:
The civil right act of 1964 outlaws discrimination several areas including the work place ands at the voting polls. outlawed the literacy requirement to vote. Dr. Martin Luther King was a major influence on the civil rights movement. He set up rallies to try to stop discrimination on African American  voters


4.  Provide a paragraph on an important issue of your choice from Section 4:
why people don't  vote is strange because most people don't vote are probably complaining on how the government can do better. There is no reason not to vote if you can. For example, my grandma who had stroke still voted when she was in the hospital . i believe you should vote no matter what.


5. Explain voter apathy and what can be done to help it:
I don't think anything can be done to help it i believe it is that people are selfish and lazy.
Voter apathy is when people don't  vote.




6. Explain the qualifications for registering to vote:
you must be 18 years old
must be a legal citizen in the US
you cannot  Be mentally imcompment or in trouble with the law.

Take 15mins and look at the following sites and find election results.

In South Dakota republicans take over SD Legislature. the republicans also made big gains in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. There are 35 members of the state senate, six which are democrats. 70 member house 51 republican and 19 democrats. In the U.S Senate there are 46 republicans, and 52 democrats. In the House of Representatives 237 republicans and 184 democrats.
 
I think the initiive maesures were voted on fairly with medical marijuana losing by alot, and the smoking band passed. I think it good and every thing went well.
