1. What does Federalism mean by definition and what does Federalism mean to you?
Federalism is a type of government with a written constitution that divides power between a central, or national government and several regional governments.
Federalism to me is a type of government with a Constitution that power is divided in equal branches of power.
2. List and describe the three powers of the National Government.
The Expressed Power are the powers spelled out in the Constitution, also called the enumerated powers. most of the expressed powers are found in article I, section 8.
The second powers are the Implied Powers. These powers are not expressed in the constitution, but are reasonably suggested. Some examples are eating at a restaurant they are not allowed to discriminate against you because of your color or your beliefs.
The Inherent Powers belong to the national government. there are few inherent powers, major ones include immigration laws and etc...
3. Explain the division of powers and why it is important?
The division of power is important because if everything was a Federal law it wouldn't work because each state is different and has different laws.
4. What is the Supremacy Clause and what is its function?
Joins states government and national government into one functional unit.
5. Find a site on the Internet that deals with Federalism. Take 10 minutes and review that site. Provide the link and provide some of the useful information that you found to help you better understand what Federalism is and how it works.
