describe what your views are on the materials that we covered.  Provide a paragraph of reflection on what areas you had prior knowledge of and those that you did not.

i had prior knowledge on the veto's but did not know anything else. I like the way the bill passes and how a veto works. The lt. Governor is the president of the senate and the speaker of the house is incharge of the house.  there are 30 members in senate an 70 in the house.

Ch 6 Test - Your Blog Due Nov 23.

1.  Provide a paragraph on an important issue of your choice from Section 1:
I think it is cool that the constitution vote states five restrictions on the right to vote. These restrictions do not allow the state to deprive people the right  to vote on race, color, creed, sex,and if there of legal age to vote. It also states  a state can not have a polling tax.

2.  Provide a paragraph on an important issue of your choice from Section 2:
to vote in the US you must be a legal citizen of the united states. to vote in your state you must be a resident  for a certain period of time may vote. you also must be 18 years old and have registered to vote except if you live in North Dakota. The state provides a way to register to vote.

The civil right act of 1964 outlaws discrimination several areas including the work place ands at the voting polls. outlawed the literacy requirement to vote. Dr. Martin Luther King was a major influence on the civil rights movement. He set up rallies to try to stop discrimination on African American  voters

why people don't  vote is strange because most people don't vote are probably complaining on how the government can do better. There is no reason not to vote if you can. For example, my grandma who had stroke still voted when she was in the hospital . i believe you should vote no matter what.

I don't think anything can be done to help it i believe it is that people are selfish and lazy.
Voter apathy is when people don't  vote.

Your Blog: Federalism Assignment

Answer the following questions and post on your blog.  You may use any resources that you need.
Due: October 17th

1.  What does Federalism mean by definition and what does Federalism mean to you?

Federalism is a type of government with a written constitution that divides power between a central, or national government and several regional governments.

Federalism to me is a type of government with a Constitution that power is divided in equal branches of power.
2.  List and describe the three powers of the National Government.

The Expressed Power are the powers spelled out in the Constitution, also called the enumerated powers. most of the expressed powers are found in article I, section 8.

The second powers are the Implied Powers. These powers are not expressed in the constitution, but are reasonably suggested. Some examples are eating at a restaurant they are not allowed to discriminate against you because of your color or your beliefs.

The Inherent Powers belong to the national government. there are few inherent powers, major ones include immigration laws and etc...

3.  Explain the division of powers and why it is important?

The division of power is important because if everything was a Federal law it wouldn't work because each state is different and has different laws.

4.  What is the Supremacy Clause and what is its function?

Joins states government and national government into one functional unit.

5.  Find a site on the Internet that deals with Federalism.  Take 10 minutes and review that site.  Provide the link and provide some of the useful information that you found to help you better understand what Federalism is and how it works.
